";s:4:"text";s:4008:" So what’s wrong with a little pregnant mare’s urine if it’s going to get rid of your hot flushes and make you feel better? The problem is two-fold.
I love horses like crazy but I love women like crazy too and it absolutely crushes me to see so much propaganda and BS get passed on in order to advance a different agenda. I am looking to follow a vegan lifestyle, and want to ensure that my medication contains as few animal ingredients as possible.Hi Alice. Thanks for letting me know.Hi Keeley. FemSeven Conti is meant to be prescribed for postmenopausal women with a uterus.
The Evorel Sequi patches you are on contain a natural form of oestradiol but a synthetic progestin – norethisterone acetate.
Are there any other forms of HRT?
Not only is it a cruel practice, but it is harmful to the health of the women who are prescribed it.So, if your doctor prescribes you Prempak-C or Premarin, Ask for bioidentical hormones (usually in the form of oestrogen patches or gel and Utrogestan progesterone capsules).
I am on femsevern conti patches after a total hysterectomy which I had 3weeks ago. After all, we may eat gelatin or inject Botox, and most of the time we have no idea what ingredients are in our medicines or beauty products. And secondly, treatment of the pregnant mares is very cruel. The results of the WHI study sent shockwaves around the world and women stopped taking HRT in droves. The mind boggles!
I’m glad this post helped you make an informed decision.
I try and get most of my calcium from food sources like dairy and sardines. I stopped taking HRT because of progesterone intolerance. My impression is that Prempak-C and other Premarin forms of HRT are prescribed because they are the cheapest form of HRT. Either your doctor doesn’t know or doesn’t think it’s an issue. I suffer particularly from a dry vagina and the nurse has told me that I need hormone replacement therapy (I will not take any preparation that has been made from horse's urine.Until relatively recently there were only a handful of HRT medicines available and two of those were made from pregnant mare's urine. Non-hysterectomized women (those with their uteri intact) took premarin plus a synthetic progestin known as “MPA”. many thanks indeed – from a horse loverHi Lynne.
Personally, I feel that Evorel Conti patches are a much better bet as the oestrogen in the patch is bioidentical and has not been manufactured from pregnant mare’s urine, a very cruel process. Why has my doctor not spoken to me about this before prescribing Hi Lisa. If you’ve been prescribed Prempak-C, Prempro, Premique, Premarin or the combined menopausal-osteoporosis drug Duavee (formerly known as Aprela), you have been prescribed a synthetic form of HRT that contains conjugated horse oestrogens.
But it also refers to Premarin (and its offshoots) which, although made from a natural source (horse urine), aren’t the same as your endogenous estrogens (i.e. Natural progesterone does not have this effect. If you are still worried about the risk of cancer then you could come off and find something natural.
In the one arm, women who did not have their uteri (hysterectomized women) took premarin estrogens with no progestins as they did not need them. I was also experiencing very heavy periods. Conjugated equine estrogens made from horse urine are also sources of the naturally occurring estrogen oestrone sulphate.
