Almost off the Effexor & on only 5mg of viibryd.
Hi frenchie, thanks for checking in with me. Does anyone know if the effect is somehow compromised if you cut Viibryd in half? Please update when you can. Im still trying to figure out if i should take it in the AM noon or PM.Well, my MD stated it was ok to split up just FYI, but last night I had right sided restless leg. I hav an appt w my md Fri. She wants to put me on lamictal , a mood stabilizer . I saw my doc. I'm still on only 2mg of lexapro. I wanted it to! But the manufacturer does not give a reason as to why they should not be cut. I have read that may be a side effect. You sound positive. Woke up & took another 5mg & no Effexor. Mood is low :(. Select one or more newsletters to continue. Been so hard!! I think I'm still withdrawing from the Effexor. It hasn't interrupted my sleep at all, but I'm still having mild headache with stiff neck. Yes, that's kind of the first test to determine whether a pill can be cut, i.e., is it sustained release or not. Congratulations! I don't know if the manufacturer states that viibryd oills can be cut in half but my doctor and pharmacist are under the impression that it can. Oh well, I gave it a month. If I went up any further in dose my headaches would of been worse. Available for Android and iOS devices. !All I know is the sister of my sis n law takes viibryd, not sure of mg, and she said it is working wonders for her. If they are the regular which are orange or peach colored and scored (an indentation on one side to know where to cut in half ) then you can cut them in half .

We agreed to stop the Effexor ( still on low dose lexapro) & increase my viibryd to 10mg. I'm feeling so much better and I hope you've also gotten some answers and the headaches have resolved. Never thought of splitting this thru the day, kindof like not splitting an antibiotic or something. The half-life is only 20-24hrs. Still having mild headaches! Having done it myself the effect of a 40 mg pill cut in half versus an uncut 20 mg pill is just not the same over time. I feel a bit better. Feels like a vice on my head!! I wish it worked for me. I feel a bit better. I wanted it to work for me!!
Side effects will go away in a week or 2.Joe, why do you think it shouldn't get split up? This is frustrating when one is prescribed 30 mg and the manufacturer does not provide the medication in a 30 mg pill.That definitely makes no sense! However I worry that there may be more at play here. Last night I decided to take 5mg along with sleepy meds, slept fine.

The manufacturer recommends that the pills not be cut in half and, as such, does not "score" the pills to facilitate cutting. Last night I decided to take 5mg along with sleepy meds, slept fine. I take my Viibryd around lunch time and it seems to be working. I really appreciate it!Still looking for answers?
